We are thrilled to announce the launch of the DotVVM Business Pack Beta Program. We have put a lot of effort in this product and we are happy to share it with you.

DotVVM Business Pack is a set of rich UI controls designed for enterprise and line of business websites. DotVVM Business Pack includes 32 controls: GridView, ModalDialog, ImageCrop, DateTimePicker, AutoComplete and much more! You can browse all of them in the documentation section.

The Business Pack controls come with a default blue theme and we will be releasing other themes including Bootstrap-compatible ones soon. You can also craft your own themes in the Theme Editor, which is also a nice showcase of the most of the controls.

Join the Beta Program for Free

Until we make sure that the Business Pack controls are stable enough, anyone can join the Beta Program and try it for free. Even after the beta stage is over, you can continue using the beta version of the library.

After we release the final version, the DotVVM Business Pack will become another commercial product. The price for 1 developer and 12 months of updates is set to $199, and there will be discounts for open source projects, students and educational institutions.

Roadmap

We have a lot of features and controls in our backlog. These are the most important for us:

  • More features the GridView control
    • grouping
    • custom column filtering
    • loading data from REST APIs or OData endpoints
    • PDF exports (currently the control can export only XLS, HTML and CSV)
    • keayboard events
  • Finalize the RichTextBox control
    • finish the Toolbar control
    • cleanup of the content pasted from Word
    • HTML filtering
  • Finish the DraggableList control
  • Chart controls
  • Google Maps control

Known Issues

  • The Extended mode (allows to display date and time selection side by side) in the Calendar, RangeCalendar, DateTimePicker and DateTimeRangePicker is not styled correctly.
  • The documentation for exports from the GridView is not finished yet.
  • Excel export from the GridView works only in full .NET Framework.
  • Some column types (e.g. GridViewComboBoxColumn) are not finished yet and their APIs will probably change in the future.
  • BpGridViewDataSet will be renamed to AdvancedGridViewDataSet in the next release.

What’s Cooking

We have made a lot of work on the upcoming version of DotVVM 1.2 with REST API bindings and other interesting features. We will release an alpha version of DotVVM 1.2 soon and continue with working on the 1.2 issues, there are still a lot of them.

The DotVVM for Visual Studio will get some new stuff too. Right now, we are working on a window which will appear when you create a new project. This window will let you enable cookie or Azure AD authentication, install Bootstrap, jQuery or DotVVM Business Pack with one click.

We’d love to hear from you! Use any of our support channels, or just reply to this e-mail and tell us what you think! Stay tuned and follow us on Twitter.
